Hello, friends. Spring is here but it sure doesn’t feel like it here in the Monadnock Region. We are still experiencing overnight temps in the teens. I hope that my overachieving garlic shoots don’t get zapped!
The loom is currently dressed with more merino/tencel fabric. This cloth feels really nice, especially after laundering, when all of the threads sort of snuggle in and get friendly with each other. This fabric sews like a dream, too! Here are a couple of fabric covered flasks that I constructed using the new cloth:

I did a couple of tartans using some cheerful colors (I kind of have a thing for purple these days) and have moved on to a simple twill check:

I’m spending a fair amount of time at the sewing machine working on new handbags and some smaller items that I hope to have at the League of NH Craftsmen Summer Fair. (I’ll be back in Tent 1 again this year, Booth 105). Such fun! I do enjoy working with the fabrics that I’ve designed and woven.
Next up will be kitchen towels. I also hope to have a new weaving pattern ready soon, perhaps for kitchen towels. I’ve done quite a few placemat patterns and think that it would be fun to mix it up a bit, don’t you agree?
Happy weaving,
Kate K.
