Log cabin placemats, “Art, Craft and Design” exhibition

Greetings from Harrisville. I’ve been working on placemat sets since my last post. I’ve been weaving these log cabin placemats for a couple of years, but I decided to try out a couple of new color variations:

Moss green and ivory log cabin placemats
Black and ivory mats

I’m making a few sets in blue and ivory, too, and I will have these ready to ship just in time for the League of NH Craftsmen Virtual Fair which will take place August 1-9, 2020.

My fellow craftsmen have been working hard to set up demonstrations and guided tours of their studios in addition to setting up online shops. You can even take a class and learn something new. 140 craftsmen will be participating in the Virtual Fair, including yours truly. If you’ve never had the opportunity to visit Mt. Sunapee for the show, this would be a nice way to experience the Fair without making a big effort to get to Newbury, NH. (While I love to do the Summer Fair in person, it can be a hot and sticky undertaking with temperatures easily reaching 95 degrees F many days!). The Art Craft and Design Exhibition will be set up in the League of NH Craftsmen Headquarters gallery in Concord, NH. I took my exhibition piece there earlier this week. Here is a picture of it that I took at home:

Alpaca and silk wrap

That’s all for now. I have a few placemats to finish today, and then I plan to dress the loom in something fancy.

Be safe and well,

Kate K.

  1. Very nice work – exceptional is probably a better description. The wrap is beautiful – good choice for the exhibition center. Good luck with the virtual fair.

On another note – I just updated my DirecTV lineup to include all the baseball games and thank you for the duplicate Downton Abbey DVD’s.
