Garden inspired cloth

Well, it is mid-July and the Monadnock Region is a riot of color. My loom is also a riot of color as I make final preparations for the League of NH Craftsmen Summer Fair, August 3-11. This is my fourth year as a Fair participant.

Preparing for a nine day event requires a lot of planning. I try to strike a balance between offering old favorites for patrons and keeping things fresh. Perhaps because I’ve spent a lot of time sorting out gardens at our new home (this is our first full spring and summer in Harrisville), the cloth that I’ve woven this year reflects the time spent outdoors.

Here are a few photos of some of the pieces I’ve created over the last couple of months:

Rose garden diamond twill kitchen towel
.
Weaving a lavender nine-patch bordered towel.
Outdoor birdfeeder made by my son Andrew led to the following towel…
Blue and green nine-patch kitchen towel.
Lavender warp chain, destined for the loom.

I will be in Tent 6, Booth 628 this year displaying these pretty and practical pieces and more. If you’d like a postcard for the fair, which also doubles as a coupon for discounted admission (!!!), please contact me. Rest assured, I value everyone’s privacy and never have and never will share your personal information.

Happy summer and be well,

Kate

    1. Thank you! I started a bunch of new lavender plants this year. The NH winter was rather hard on our existing plants this year. I love lavender. It is one of my favorites!
