Hello, October

“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers,” says one of my favorite literary characters of all time, Anne Shirley. Yes, it is “sweatah weathah” here in New England. And what a comforting thought this is.

September closed for me with the inaugural Capital Arts Fest, held in Concord, New Hampshire from Friday through Sunday.  We had three large marquis tents full of all manner of fine crafts. Participants and shoppers alike really seemed to respond positively to this new event. It was lovely to see folks from previous summer fairs at Mt. Sunapee and meet new people. Here are a few snapshots as seen from my booth:

If you missed Capital Arts Fest on the weekend, my work can still be seen in Concord on display at the League Gallery Headquarters as one of my pieces is part of “Head to Toe,” an exhibition of wearable fine craft:

I also took up a selection of autumn-inspired kitchen towels to the League of NH Craftsmen retail gallery in Concord just recently. Do stop in!

So, it is back to the loom for me as I prepare for Roseland Cottage Fine Arts and Crafts Festival, Woodstock, CT. This show will be held on October 13-14. The show is well-established in the region and I’m really looking forward to visiting another fine Historic New England venue.  I hope to have a few sets of these tabletop pretties completed in time for this show:

Placemats (they’re reversible!) are on the loom this week.

Happy Fall, everyone. It is a great time of year. Hope to see you out and about.

Be well,

Kate K
