Hello, friends. I am happy to share that I’ve released my first weaving pattern for 2021. I designed this placemat pattern for newer weavers that work on either 2 shaft looms or rigid heddle looms. Here is a look at the design:
The pattern is available on my Etsy site for instant download or right here!
Checkered placemats : a print at home pattern for new weavers
Digital weaving pattern download for a set of 4 checkered placemats. Suitable for new weavers using a 2 or 4 shaft loom or rigid heddle loom.
(I will email your digital pattern to you after payment has cleared with Paypal). The pattern allows you to weave 4 of these reversible and machine washable placemats. Weave a set to freshen up your dining table or to gift to a friend.
This week I’ve been working on a special project. I’m weaving a large piece that I hope will find itself on a wall. Here is a sneak peek:
This piece is a bit more experimental for me. It is so interesting to see how the squares vary not just in color but in texture. It is a nice detour for me and it has certainly been an exercise in design and preparation. I will share photos once the piece is completed, provided I am reasonably happy with the results.
Stay safe and well. Thanks for checking in,

Very nice placemat and draft. Love the black and white project you are working on, is it for a competition?
Hi there! I’m hoping to enter the black and white piece in an exhibition with the League of NH Craftsmen. Fingers crossed!
Thanks great posst
