It doesn’t feel like Spring here in southwest New Hampshire, but today a bunny emerged from her warren underneath the woodshed. She kept very still but allowed the sun to warm her. We watched her hop about for some snacks; there isn’t much available but it looks like the beech leaves and smaller twigs might be on the menu. She was a good reminder to me that Spring will come.
I delivered a body of work to the Healing Arts Gallery at Monadnock Community Hospital, Peterborough, NH, last week. Five area artists are part of the two month long exhibit, which will open February 19, 2026 at 4:30pm. The exhibit will continue through the end of April. Here is a photo of some of the promotional material for the event:

(Yep! That’s my “Dogwood Bract” wall hanging on the right side of the postcard!)
The floor looms are both dressed as I am beginning to weave in earnest in anticipation of the League of NH Craftsmen’s Fair in August. Kitchen towels are popular items with patrons. Here are some “Herb Garden” kitchen towels that were just removed from the LeClerc:

The Schacht Baby Wolf is dressed with an overshot table runner cloth:

I’ve had a few inquiries about offering my variation of “John Madison,” as it is found in Marguerite Porter Davison’s book, as a print-at-home pattern. I hope to be able to do so and will share any developments here on the blog. Did you know about my most recent pattern for weavers? Here it is:
As the description notes, the pattern is intended for weavers with 4 shaft looms. The design features some simple color and weave effects and a little huck lace motif in the four corners. We use our napkins at home; woven from 8/2 unmercerized cotton, the napkins have been machine washed and dried a number of times.
Back to the loom! I have a new color way of kitchen towels on the LeClerc in some nice blue cottons. I’m eager to watch the cloth take shape.
Happy weaving,
Kate K.
