Wool Arts Tour and Flint Hill Furniture

Hello, friends. Happy October. There is a lot happening in Harrisville and the surrounding areas these days! I have been busy with preparations for the Wool Arts Tour (October 9-10, 2021) and finishing up customer requests that I received from the League of NH Craftsmen’s Fair in August. Here are two photos of some recently finished work:

and here is a merino/tencel shawl that I finished a few days ago:

I am pleased to share that my work will be on display at my friend’s new furniture studio right here in Harrisville. Louis Lovas is a fine furniture maker and artisan. His studio is located in the Historic Harrisville mill complex and he is participating in the Monadnock Art Tour this year which happens this weekend, October 9-11, 2021. Here are just a couple of pictures of his work:

You can read Louis Lovas’s artist statement here. So print off a map of the Monadnock Art Tour and stop by Flint Hill Furniture to meet Louis and see his beautiful work! Louis is an Ohio State fan which, as a University of Michigan alum, I find hard to grasp, but we have managed to overlook this difference and have proceeded on friendly terms ever since our families became acquainted upon our move to Harrisville. (Go Blue!)

Off to finish some diamond twill kitchen towels. I will be bringing a few of these to the Wool Arts Tour this weekend and plan to continue weaving towels in an effort to replenish my inventory. Also, my own kitchen towel collection is looking a bit shabby, so I think I could use a new towel or two myself!)

Happy Fall. Be safe and well,

Kate K.
